Weather Policy

Weather Policy for Pooper Scooper Services in Erie, CO

At Erie Pooper Scoopers, our mission is to deliver consistent and dependable service year-round. However, as every Coloradan knows, weather can be unpredictable. Snow, ice, and extreme temperatures sometimes create conditions that make safe, effective pet waste removal impossible. This page outlines how we handle inclement weather and what you can expect if we need to adjust your service.

Erie Pooper Scoopers Weather Policy

Our Commitment to You

We understand that reliable service is essential to your routine and your pet’s well-being. That’s why we’ve created a clear weather policy to keep you informed, safe, and satisfied—no surprises.

By signing up for our service, you agree to these weather-related policies, which we designed based on years of local experience.

When We Delay or Cancel Service

We reserve the right to reschedule, delay, or cancel service when weather makes it unsafe or ineffective to complete a full route. Our decisions are based on multiple variables—not just conditions at individual homes—but across the broader route.

Conditions That May Affect Service:

  • Snow Accumulation: Heavy snow before or during service can cover pet waste, making it impossible to remove completely.
  • Frozen Ground: Deep freeze can cement waste to the ground.
  • Severe Weather: Lightning, hail, wind gusts over 30mph, and extreme cold (under 15°F with wind chill) can create unsafe working conditions.
  • Hazardous Roads: If CDOT advises against travel, we won’t risk the safety of our technicians.

We’ll always notify you by text or email when your service is affected, along with the next steps.

Makeup Service or Weather Credit

When weather interrupts service, we offer one of two options:

If conditions improve within a few days and we have technician availability, we’ll return to complete your service. You’ll be notified of the expected day and time range. If that doesn’t work, we’ll discount your charge the next month by whatever your appointment cost is.

What Happens the Week After Snow

When service resumes after a snow delay, technicians may face double the workload. Waste hidden under snow or frozen to the ground often resurfaces, requiring more time per property. We plan ahead to account for this, but ask for your patience during busy catch-up weeks.

Our “We’ll Try Anyway” Policy

If conditions are borderline, we may attempt service—even if not all waste is visible. Our techs will do their best and leave a note or send a message if coverage prevented a complete cleanup. Our goal is to get as much as we can, whenever we can safely access your yard.

How to Help

To reduce the likelihood of missed service:

  • Clear a path to your yard and gate when it snows.
  • De-ice walkways when possible.
  • Keep gates functional to allow technician access.

We’ll always try to scoop, but we need a safe and accessible space to work.

Communication Is Key

You’ll always be notified by email or text if service is delayed, canceled, or rescheduled. You can also reach out if you have specific access needs or want to request a text-ahead on a makeup day.

Thank You for Understanding

Serving Erie means dealing with wild weather—but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Our goal is to provide dependable service even when conditions make it tough. Thanks for being part of our community and for helping us keep your yard poop-free and safe year-round.
